Christina Collins

Brand & Marketing

Who are you, and what do you love to do?

Christina Collins AKA Chris’ better half and life organiser.

My love for interiors and decorating has been keeping me busy in my spare time. I will also ‘dog-sit’ my parents Cavapoo as much as possible because I‘m slightly obsessed with dogs and it gets me out and about in the Devon countryside.

How did you get here? What experiences have led you to this point in your life?

I studied Photography and Visual Culture at University. After needing a break from studying, I took myself around the world for 7 months as a recently qualified CELTA teacher.

I then focused my career around Marketing and PR starting with internships and work experience roles. I then took on a Marketing/Digital Co-ordinator role for a growing ethical lifestyle brand, ‘Nkuku’, (lots of home interior inspiration!) for a few years until I decided it was time to team up with my husband full time, and join the BoothBook family!

When did you start working with BoothBook, and what do you do to help push the business forward?

Well, with BoothBook being the talking point a lot of the time in our household, I could say I started getting involved in 2015, but technically Chris agreed to make me part of the team in May 2019 to help balance the male/female ratio!

My main focus has been to build a solid brand for BoothBook. With my experience in marketing and design, I ensure the communication and brand message is consistent with all aspects of the business, whether that be for new or existing customers, whilst constantly finding new ways to get our name out into the industry, worldwide.

When was the first time you used a photobooth? Why did you use it? Who were you with? What was the experience like?

When I first met Chris, my job was to test all of the new props were good enough (after he’d timed how quick he could build an enclosed booth). With 3 different photo booths set up in his lounge and 60 ‘test’ photos later and it was clear I found photo booths very entertaining.

It seemed like every local wedding or celebration I attended after this point had some sort of photo booth there (most of the time it was by South West Photo Booths!) – the craze for them had boomed because they brought so much fun and held so many special memories.

What is the coolest / most fun / most amazing photobooth experience you have seen? Why did you like it so much?

At a photo booth trade show, I tested a new overhead booth where I had to lie on the floor and try to hold a pose (whilst trying to keep my dignity!) – that was a laugh and was so unique to any booth I’d experienced before.

Other than that, we had a branded photo booth at our wedding in 2019 (which Chris and Ben designed themselves) and there was nothing too ‘unique’ about it other than the fact I will remember the laughs and entertainment it brought to all of our guests until 2am (thank you Sambuca).

What is a particular skill that you have that you think would help small business owners improve their lives?

The ability to be relatable and empathetic to anyone else in the photo booth industry. BoothBook has impacted my home life with Chris dramatically and finally allowed us to have a good work/life balance.

By having this experience and knowledge on this topic, I love knowing that it WILL also help small business owners and improve the way they run their business. My favourite part of working for BoothBook is witnessing the lives of our customers improve whilst their businesses are growing.

Which BoothBook feature do you think is most likely to dramatically improve someones business?

Our interactive website widgets are the perfect way to encourage more leads into your booking system. Depending on how much human interaction you’d like, these widgets gather valuable information for you to convert leads into bookings.

Being customisable and fully white-labelled, you can ensure the widgets will blend into your website beautifully, so it looks like you’ve built your own booking system, whilst appearing very established and professional.

Which BoothBook feature do you think is the coolest / most fun / most impressive?

100% Proposals. Mainly because my job is to make things look pretty, and these Proposals do just that with minimal editing needed. You’re basically provided with a 1-page website with amazing automated functionality. If you’re looking to stand out from your competition and impress your prospects, Proposals is your answer.

Why should people use BoothBook in their business?

Built by photo booth owners, the system has been built for the specific needs of photo booth owners. This set us apart from any other product on the market. Our sole focus is to help grow your business, whilst saving you hours, money and increasing your revenue.
